When selecting a polygraph examiner, remember the old saying
“you get what you pay for”
In States like California, that have no Licensing of Polygraph Examiners, anyone can claim to be Polygraph Examiner.
Unfortunately, there are a number of individuals that advertise polygraph services on the internet. They claim to have all kinds of experience. Inferring that because they were on Television, they are famous and experiences. It is ironic that someone claiming to dedicate finding the truth, is being so deceptive.
Remember Television is entertainment not real life. These people offer bargain prices and special discounts like a used car dealer or discount store to attract clients.
These individuals are not professional examiners. The do not have the training and experience you deserve to make life altering decision. You would not select a doctor or attorney just because they charge less than anyone else, or because they were an actor on a television show.
When was the last time you asked your doctor what they before you made an appointment?
You can find attorneys that charge $100.00 per hour and some that charge $1000.00 per hour some even more. You are not paying for that one hour, you are paying for the 8 to 15 years of specialized education; several years of internship, followed by years of experience. It is the same for a professional polygraph examiner.
When you select someone to help you make a life altering decision, be sure they have the experience and training you are paying for. Make sure they belong to one or more of the professional organizations and have been to one of the accredited schools; served some form of internship and keep up with their training.
You get what you pay for.
